How Explore works

Explore searches the whole Magic: The Gathering catalogue — one entry per card, with every paper printing grouped under it — and opens a page for each card with its rules text, Commander legality, cheapest known price, EDHREC salt score and printings. No account is needed.

Search by name, text or numbers

  • Name — a few words (sol ring), an exact phrase in quotes, or !"Sol Ring" for that card alone.
  • Rules text and types — o:"draw a card", t:creature, kw:flying.
  • Numbers — mana value mv>=3, power pow>=4, toughness tou<3.

The ? button beside the search field lists the whole syntax.

Filter for a Commander deck

  • Colour identity — id:bg keeps every card legal in a Golgari deck, colourless included; c:bg requires at least one of black or green (mono-black, mono-green or Golgari), so colourless cards are excluded.
  • Role — each card carries up to four role tags from the Scryfall Tagger, a community tagging project: ramp, removal, board wipe, card draw, tutor, counterspell, win condition and 22 more. Pick one in the Role menu or type role:board-wipe.
  • Price — the price range keeps cards whose cheapest known paper printing fits it, in euros (in dollars when no euro price exists). It comes from Scryfall's bulk data — Cardmarket for euros, TCGplayer for dollars — refreshed with the catalogue.
  • Set and rarity — s:blc, r:mythic.

Where the data comes from

Card text, images and prices come from Scryfall, role tags from the Scryfall Tagger and salt scores from EDHREC. Lotus Vault does not rewrite any of it: it keeps one entry per card, remembers its cheapest printing, and lets you combine every filter at once — then, with an account, add the card to a deck or to your collection. To see how a whole list holds up, try the deck analysis or playtest it.
